Archery Tag is a game of
two teams, consisting of 5 players each playing opposite one another that are separated by a "safe zone." Each team will have two ways to win the match, either by eliminating each player by hitting them with an arrow, or by knocking out five circles from the opposing teams target. A team is eliminated from the tournament when they have suffered two losses. The tournament will continue through all of the teams until one team remains.
The Sheriff's Office participated in the Archery Tag Tournament hosted by Moose Lodge 417 in Portland, Indiana. Proceeds collected from the charity event were donated to various Jay County Programs for the Youth.
Sheriff Dwane Ford entered two teams named, "Sheriffs Department," and "Sheriffs Reserves" to represent the Sheriff's Department. Sheriff Dwane Ford, Ruben Vela, Derek Bogenschutz, Trevor Homan, Brandon Swoveland, Ryan Miskinis, Dustin Huftel, and Anthony Skeens were apart of those two teams. Team "Sheriffs Department" went on to win the overall tournament.
